Herschel Sports Facilities

The Herschel Sports Centre Update | March 2022

The management of the Herschel Sports Centre, outside of school hours, is contracted to an external company. In February 2020, just before the first pandemic lockdown, we had just run a new contract tendering process and appointed a new provider. However, contracts had not been signed when the lockdown started. Obviously the facilities had to close. The lockdowns and other restrictions had a significant impact on the leisure industry and the terms of the original contract are no longer workable. We are, therefore, still in the process of working this through. The school itself does not have the capacity to run the facility for the community in the meantime. Please bear with us. We know the community are keen to use the facilities again and we are equally committed to making this happen.
